Som Chun is a child adopted by LP Kloy abbot of Wat Song Sawoei in B.E.2444. At very young age, Som Chun has lost both of his parents.

LP Kloy felt that Som Chun is a cute and smart boy, and it is also his fate to meet him, so LP Kloy decided to adopt Som Chun and raise him up in the temple.

Som Chun is a very good and obedient little boy, everyday he will stays with LP Kloy and learns Dharma. Until one day, Som Chun went out with afew children from the temple to play at the river.

While he is playing in the river with his friends, his feet suddenly cramp and at that moment all children thought Som Chun was just joking. In the end tragic happened, Som Chun was drowned and suffocated to death in the year B.E.2453.

After Som Chun passed away, many young novice monks who stayed in the temple often saw Som Chun around the temple and asked them to play with him, give him snacks and he will disturb them at night by pulling their legs while they were sleeping.

When LP Kloy knew about this incident, LP Kloy decided to set up an altar and statue in the temple for Som Chun so that believers can worship to him and at the same time he can help to fulfil their wishes to gain merits so that he can reincarnate.

When the statue was build, many faithful believers who come to the temple worship Som Chun for wealth or windfall and many more was very effective.

After the wishes come true, the believers will return to the temple donate money, buy toys, candy, red soft drink, children's clothes or rooster, elephant, buffalo statue to thanks Ai Som Chun for helping them and this also can help Som Chun to accumulate his merits.

Not only did Som Chun helped believers fulfilled their wishes, believers also believed that by praying to Som Chun, kids in their family will be obedient, healthy and clever.

Therefore, Som Chun is strongly believed to help worshipers in granting their wishes.
