Luang Por Yaiprathanporn & Lp Samri

about nine kilometres away from the town of Sanam Chai Khet.

The foundation stone of the stupa of Phra Mahachedi Phrathat Wayo was laid in 1989, marking the start of the construction.

With the donation for building the chedi conducted by Suchitra Phanthong and a group of the temple's disciples, the construction was completed in 1993.

The stupa is 39 metres tall with a diameter of 20 metres, covering an area of 1600 square metres. The total construction cost is over 60 million baht.

The temple's interesting things include Luang Pho Yai, a massive Buddha image in blessing posture with a lap size of 17 metres and a height of 19 metres.

The base is 5 metres tall. In addition, Phra Mahachedi is another interesting thing. It is a bell-shaped stupa decorated with yellow, blue and white glass with a height of 50 metres and a diameter at the base of 45 metres.

It is the place where the Buddha's relics are hosted. In the hall underneath the chedi are a number of Buddha images and oil pastel paintings depicting the life and times of the Lord Buddha.

There are also stairs that lead to upper levels. On the second level, several Buddha images stand around the core of the stupa.

Besides, you can overlook the areas surrounding the temple and Lat Krathing Reservoir, a small reservoir through windows.

On the third level, the highest levels, many Buddha images are hosted. Additionally, like on the second floor, visitors can get beautiful 360-degree views of the temple's surrounding areas and overlook the reservoir.

The third floor, however, is open to the public only on public holidays. Moreover, there are the monument of Than Pho Khun, the monument of Pho Saen Kham Fa and the hall of the reclining Buddha.

Furthermore, as the temple's ground has lots of trees, it is the right place for visitors to relax. The temple is open to the public from 8:00 to 17:00.
